The judge noted that he is a do-no-harm type, nearly faultless, and ultra-correct. He is a son of the proven superstar cow, Stillwater Motley 12G, who is from a highly fertile and maternal line with moderate sized, moderate milking, grass type females that are ultra-correct and boast beautiful feet and udders. Motley was the Supreme Champion Murray Grey, Grand Champion Produce of Dam, Grand Champion Cow/Calf Pair, Grand Champion Senior Female and Grand Champion Overall Female in 2023. She is a true dual-purpose cow that thrives in the mountains or in the show ring. 

DJ’s sire is a “heritage” 2003 model black bull consisting of 100% Australian imported lines that have been proven over and over again in several different programs across the US and AUS. DJ is the ONLY recorded offspring in the last decade by Blackhawk, his pedigree is rare and hard to come by.

His proven and rare pedigree is just a bonus to his exceptional performance pre and post weaning primarily on grass, mineral, and his Dam’s milk. DJ has a high likely-hood of throwing black calves. His first crop will hit the ground in 2026, we will be confidently putting him over both heifers and cows.
